A conversation on Motherhood and work with Hannah Jack Founder of Country Kitchen
Hannah Jack from Country Kitchen shares how she balances the roles of motherhood, life expectations, and business enterprises.
Balancing the responsibilities of motherhood with a career presents numerous challenges, yet it can also be highly fulfilling. Many mothers find themselves managing a wide array of tasks within limited timeframes, showcasing their ability to multitask and prioritise.
However, it is common for feelings of guilt to arise, whether due to time constraints or the need to meet various expectations. Striking a balance between personal and professional responsibilities can be complex, and these feelings are part of the broader experience of motherhood.
On a personal level, raising three children, along with two stepchildren, is indeed a significant responsibility in itself. Prioritising their unique and personalised selves, well-being, and development is essential in creating a nurturing environment for all of them. On top of this, managing a demanding workload and personal needs can be a multifaceted endeavour.
Growth through these times is immense, and I find balance in realistic expectations and open communication.
Viewing challenges as learning opportunities can significantly change one’s perspective. When situations that seem difficult are reframed as chances for growth and development, I find it can lead to greater resilience and adaptability. This shift in mindset often allows me to focus on solutions rather than the obstacles, fostering a more positive approach to life’s intricacies.
At times, a simple reminder to each other that everyone is doing their best can be incredibly meaningful. Acknowledging that struggles are a shared experience can create a supportive environment. An affirmation to strengthen and comfort goes along way:
“Well done, Mama, you are doing so well.”
