Morocco's only remaining hand-blown glass factory was nearly lost forever in 2013 when its owner abandoned it, leaving sixty skilled artisans without work. The Beldi group stepped in, reviving the tradition and moving production to their country club in Marrakech, where those same artisans continue the craft today.
Beldi, meaning local or traditional in Arabic, has been synonymous with Moroccan daily life since the 1940s, the glass from which mint tea is poured, passed and shared across generations.
Each piece is blown entirely by hand from locally recycled glass, clear glass from recycled bottles, green from beer glass, giving each piece its distinctive colour and the subtle irregularities that are the marks of genuine making.
The collection is built for daily use, glasses to be filled and refilled, passed and returned, while quietly honouring the heritage and the reuse that give each piece its character.
