Maryse O'Donnell spent years as a facialist before she began making her own formulations, watching closely how pure, plant-based products changed the skin over time and realising that what her clients needed didn't yet exist in quite the right form.
She now works from a purpose-built blend studio in the garden of her Ponsonby home, formulating in small batches with a pared-back, unhurried approach that prioritises potency and integrity over quantity. Her first product, the Bio-Nutrient Face Oil, took nine months to perfect through ongoing trials with her clients. That same care and patience shapes everything she makes.
MARYSE draws on New Zealand-native botanicals wherever possible, with a particular passion for mānuka leaf, sourced and finely milled on the East Cape, used in a way we haven't seen elsewhere in skincare.
The result is skincare that works without announcing itself, that nourishes consistently, quietly and over time, in the way that the best things always do.
