This original Mt Ruapehu artwork is drawn by hand in Indian ink by Monique Jansen, founder of MONNI. Ruapehu's name is said to mean pit of noise or exploding pit, and in tradition she is the beautiful maiden once married to Taranaki, her presence still spoken of in the old stories of the mountains that surround her.
Printed as a card, it carries the same detail and quiet stillness of the original drawing, ready to send, frame, or keep.
